What is “It”?
“It” is one of the most useful words in English! We use it for:
- Things and animals
- Weather and temperature
- Time and dates
- General situations
Try this: Look around you. Point to an object and say: “It is [color].” Example: “It is black.” (if pointing to your phone)
1. Using “It” for Things & Animals
Use “it” when talking about objects or animals (when you don’t know the gender):
📘 “This is a book. It is interesting.”
🐶 “Look at that dog! It is cute.”
