¿Cómo usar “used to” para hablar del pasado?
How is it going?
Thank you for reading this today. Today you are gonna learn how to use used to.
We use “Used to” to talk about activities we did in the past but that we no longer do now because of different reasons.
For example:
I used to live in Mexico City.
Do I still live in Mexico city? The answer is no. But I used to live there in the past.
“Used to” doesn’t change when we used it with third person like in simple present. So you can say:
María used to live in Mexico city. But now she doesn’t.
Jaime used to drink a lot of beer before. Now he doesn’t.
The rule is: subject + used to + base form verb + complement.
You can also ask questions using use to with the the “d”
Did you use to take English class at X school? Yes, I did.
